Moving Checklists

We make it easy to move into a new home.

Whether you're moving in to an Alternative Property Management home or you're headed out, our moving checklists are a simple way to ensure you address all of the responsibilities on your plate.

Move-in Checklist

As you move into your new home, be sure to address all of the following items:

First Month's Rent & Security Deposit

Your first month's rent, security deposit, and any additional fees must be paid via certified funds or in your tenant portal before you will receive the keys to your home. Please refer to your lease for exact amounts.

Utilities

All utilities need to be placed in the name of the leaseholder. We require all APM tenants to provide confirmation of this account change before keys are distributed. You can download the relevant application below.

Washington City Utility Application
St. George Utility Application

Move-in Condition Document

All new tenants must sign and return the move-in condition document, which is available at our office.

Ongoing Rent Payments

Your rent is due on the first of each month. Paying after the 5th of the month will result in a late fee of $50, plus $10 for every day the rent is due thereafter.

On the eighth day, we will be required to serve a 3-day pay or vacate notice. Avoid this scenario by paying your rent in a timely fashion. We highly recommend using the tenant portal to ensure we receive your rent on time.

Move-out Checklist

All good things must come to an end, as the saying goes. As you prepare to leave your APM home, take special care to address the following important issues.

Notice of Intent to Vacate

You must provide written notice of your intent to vacate your home at lease 30 days in advance. Please refer to your lease for specifics terms.

Move-Out Packet

After providing notice of your intent to vacate the premises, we will provide you with a move-out packet. This packet includes information about all chores and responsibilities that need to be addressed before you leave the premises. Failure to meet all of these obligations will result in deductions from your security deposit.

Key Return

You are responsible for returning the keys to your home after vacating. If you fail to do so, you may be charged up to $200 for the locks to be re-keyed.

Security Deposit

The security deposit will be returned to you after you've left your home and an inspection has occurred. If damage has occurred during your stay, repairs will be deducted from the deposit.

Remember, the security deposit cannot be used for the last month's rent. If you fail to pay your final month of rent, you will be charged for administrative fees. Where necessary, this will be reported to credit bureaus and legal action may be pursued to recover lost funds.
